They can be used until your twins can sit up unaided. They also fold down to help save space in the car. The iCandy Peach Blossom Twin has been raved about online. Firstly, it handles wonderfully.
And the one-handed folding system really does just take one hand. When my 7-month-old baby Minnie and her friend Maggie, also 7 months, tried out the iCandy Peach Blossom Twin, both were comfortable and seemed cushioned. It is very slimline and it handles like a dream. We conquered pavements, corners and steps easily and doorways proved no problem either. Adding the seat units is simple, especially with the one-handed seat removal system.
The slots for the adaptors are colour coded, preventing you from putting the wrong adaptor in wrong hole. The brake, situated in the middle of the back axle is applied by foot and takes no effort. It can be released with ease and won't result in sore toes. As I said, the whole frame feels chunky and this includes the foam covered handle. It gives you that invincible feeling you get when you are wearing snow boots or wellies — you are in control.
Pressing the button in the centre, will lengthen or shorten the height of the handle from cm to 95cm for shorties like me! This frame is a doddle to fold, simplified for speed and ease, you are never going to find yourself struggling in the rain to collapse your over complicated, rubix cube of a pushchair. This will then release the handle allowing it to drop in between the back wheels, then simply pick up the shoulder strap from the basket and the two axles will come together as you lift, resulting in a very portable and compact frame.
The closure latch is a manual affair that needs sliding into place to ensure it is locked closed. The Peach frame is quite heavy at 10kgs, but it will stand vertically making it easier to stow in the car or store at home.
Attaching the primary seat is self explanatory, the pegs on either side of the chair drop into the sockets on the frame. The back height is a maximum of 48cms with the canopy in place, however, the canopy can be unzipped from the frame and moved up to accommodate a taller child but their head will then rest on the metal frame of the chair.
The seat is a good size at 24cms deep and 30cm wide. For a smaller child, the padded liner can be zipped in to reduce the seating cavity to 21cms deep and 26cms wide. The five-point harness can be adjusted to three shoulder heights relatively simply, accessing the back of the straps through the Velcro seal in the rear of the chair. So let's assume your passenger has nodded off and you want to recline them.
The recline control is a button in the centre of the chair release, a hub located each side of the seat. It can be performed from the rear of the pushchair but I found it easier from the front being a bit of a shortie.
The footrest can be inverted to flatten the position of the legs, or adjusted in angle using the controls either side. Supposing it is a sunny day remember those? It is easy to set up and quick to interchange between single mode and double mode. It is compact enough to fit into our boot and store away nicely in the cupboard, however if you are low on space it can be taken apart and reassembled fairly easy making it good for trips out in the car. Overall it is a very safe and easy to use double buggy that looks great while being comfortable for the kids at the same time.
The iCandy Peach Blossom works well as either a single or double pram and it is very quick and easy to interchange between the two. It is a very manoeuverable despite it being a slightly heavier pram that I am used to. I use this to walk the dogs with the children in the pram and it handles very well over grassy terrain and off road surfaces meaning I can take them all on proper walks out.
I prefer the design of this pram over others I have seen, being able to have baby on top rather than tucked away at the bottom is to my preference. I also like the extended handles as I generally find it awkward to walk with alot of prams as the handles are to close to the wheel base.
A few times I had trouble mounting kerbs which made the pram wobble slightly, so maybe a larger wheel set to help get up and over kerbs easier. It is also on the heavy side, while this gives it a nice sturdy feel it makes it difficult if I am transporting it around on my own without any help from my husband.
I thought that this was an extremely well made product and that a lot of care was given in every detail of manufacture, the materials were obviously of a superior quality and looked like they would be easier to clean and hard wearing. This is especially handy if you plan on using it for a few children. I found that it was very compact and it was an absolute dream to get it in and out of the boot of my car.
Trust me when I say that this also saved my sanity. I thought that the one hand fold was very smooth and I found that it was probably one of the best we have experienced in terms of easiness to use. I also found that in certain configurations that it could be difficult to get the toddler into the back seat. If I could have changed the size of the seats I would have been much happier but I also found that the carry cot seemed on the smaller side too which meant that I would not be sure just sure how long we would be able to use it.
This was a great pity because overall it is a fantastic product to operate. Being in the double mode meant that the pushchair protruded out of the buggy space on the bus.
One thing I did notice is that if someone tries to help you onto a bus or train, there is actually not much for them to grab onto at the front. In terms of going up and down stairs, I definitely needed help carrying the buggy, even as a single, as I found it quite heavy. Incredibly easy!
I absolutely loved this about the iCandy Peach 3. Having previously used a Bugaboo Bee with my son — which is definitely more geared up for city streets — I was so excited to be able to make short work of long grass, deep mud, and bumpy paths.
It felt fantastic to push as the buggy was doing most of the work, rather than me wearing myself out — I think a lot of that was down to the large rear wheels. There is also an easy one-click mechanism for fixing the front wheels into non-swivel mode, for when you really need to power over a challenging surface.
This is the Land Rover of the buggy world: the iCandy Peach 3 is about as sturdy as they come. The chunky chassis would be virtually impossible to damage, while the fabric on the hood and seats is incredibly durable. With a pair of oversized back wheels, and no fiddly little bits involved in the converters and elevators, it is certainly tough. Yes, it is. The design and elements such as the adjustable footrest means that the kids get a really comfy ride in the pushchair.
The seats are not overly padded, but have a firmness to them — which I thought made them especially comfortable when the children were asleep as they were well supported.
The harness and buckle points also have very well-padded covers, which impressed me. The iCandy Peach 3 can be used for children up to 15kg, or about.
